Dermal fillers
Available in Bedford, Leicester, St. Albans and Swansea
As we age we start to lose fat from under the skin, dermal fillers can be used to restore volume to specific areas. They are mainly made up of Hyaluronic Acid which is a hydrating gel. At TLC we only use fillers that are premium quality and have FDA approval.
How do I know what treatment is best for me?
We offer a free consultation to discuss your individual needs and decide on an appropriate treatment plan for you.
Which areas can be treated?
Dermal fillers can be used to enhance or restore volume to areas such as:
- Lips
- Cheeks
- Jawline
- Chin
- Nose to mouth lines (Nasolabial. Folds)
- Mouth corners (Marionette Lines)
- Under the eyes (Tear Trough)
When willI see the results?
The results are immediate. However, they usually improve after a few days when the filler has had time to integrate and any redness or swelling has settled.
How long will the treatment last?
This will vary depending on the area treated. It is usually between 6-9 months, we advise repeating the treatment after this time to maintain the effect.
Is it painful?
At TLC we do everything possible to minimise the discomfort of our treatments. We have sourced needles and cannulas with the aim of reducing pain. When appropriate we will apply a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to the area. Some people might benefit from the use of an ice pack during treatment. So if you are at all concerned please let us know.
What are the side effects?
The most common side effects of treatment are swelling and possible bruising. Rare side effects include allergy and infection. There is an extremely rare side effect called a blood vessel occlusion, we use equipment and techniques to minimise the risk and are trained to treat it all potential side effects. We will discuss all possible side effects and ways of reducing risk at your consultation.
Is the treatment suitable for everyone?
You cannot have treatment during pregnancy or when breastfeeding. During your initial consultation we will take a full medical history to determine your suitability for treatment.
Is there any downtime?
There may be some redness, swelling or bruising to the treated area but apart from that you can carry on as normal.
Is there any aftercare?
After you’re procedure you will be given an aftercare leaflet, we advise you:
