Galderma Academy
On friday 21st March I attended the Galderma Academy which was held at The Royal College Of Phyicians in London.  About 400 Aesthetics Practitioners enjoyed a series of clinical and commercial educational lectures.

Galderma's mission statement is, 'Galderma is Committed to the future of Dermatology'. They used the day to present a wide range of treatments for the skin, a brand new tool for patient assessment and great tips for buiding and marketing an Aesthetic business.

We were welcomed by David Wall, Director of A&C Sales & Marketing, Galderma UK & Ireland and the conference was chaired by Mr Ravjiv Grover.

We were then treated to a masterclass in cheek and tear trough restoration. This was presented by Dr Xavier Goodarzian who performed a live demonstration. He showed how facial volume loss can be restored by careful treatment of the cheeks and tear trough areas.

The next session was presented by Dr Daron Seukeran who introduced Galderma's newly licienced treatment for facial erythema and rosacea. Mirvaso Gel (Brimonidine) is now available on prescription and provides rapid reduction of facial redness within 30 minutes and shows notable improvement for up to 12 hours.

The morning session was ended by Professor Andy Pickett who discussed the future of Botulinium Toxin. He gave the conference the exciting news that Galderma is developing a new toxin.

The first half of the afternoon session was devoted to the presentation of Galderma's new patient consultation tool which is known as 'Harmony'. It aims to alow the practitioner to work together with the patient to develop a holistic treatment plan. Harmony was presented by Dr Ravi Jain and Dr Christoph Martschin who both have been involved in developing the tool and are sucessfully using it in their practices.

This was followed by Sharon King who gave us a live demonstration of cheek enhansement and skin boosters which followed assessment using the Harmony Assessment.

The best was definately saved for last with Louis Frisina presented 'Best Aesthetic Practices: The Top and Bottom Line - A US Approach. Such an interesting and motivational speaker who gave 25 top ways to improve our Aesthetic Practices.

I'd like to thank Galderma for giving us a fabulous day. Not only were the sessions informative and motivational but our stomachs were well provided for too. Excellent food and drink all day and chance to network with like minded colleagues, what a great day!
